Important Updates to the CFP Board’s Code and Standards

AAAA is pleased to announce that Leo Rydzewski, CFP Board General Counsel, will discuss the guidance resources that CFP Board has issued with respect to the new Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, effective October 1, 2019 with an enforcement date of June 30, 2020. These guidance resources include a Roadmap to the Code and Standards and 29 Case Studies that apply the Code and Standards to hypothetical scenarios.

This is a very important session that you don’t want to miss. The CFP Board’s Code and Standards benefits and protects the public, provides standards for delivering financial planning, and advances financial planning as a distinct and valuable profession. CFP Board CE approval is pending.

Leo G. Rydzewski, Esq., General Counsel

Leo has been CFP Board’s General Counsel since January 2015. Among his responsibilities, Leo serves as Corporate Secretary and oversees the enforcement of CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct. Leo worked with CFP Board’s Commission on Standards to develop the Code and Standards, and he works with CFP Board’s Standards Resource Commission to create compliance resources for CFP ® professionals. 

Prior to joining CFP Board, Leo was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the global law firm Holland & Knight LLP. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Federico A. Moreno, in the Southern District ofFlorida.

Leo received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Georgetown University.
